Architecturally designed, we were asked to construct a rural masterpiece.
The client wanted a home created from numerous unusual products and finishes that would be a stand-out residence in a beautiful rural setting.
We were to undertake construction of the project with intensive input from both the architect and client to ensure the end result matched the vision they both had .
The architect designed a very different exterior with complex roof lines and articulations in external walls. External finishes included western red cedar cladding, zincalume and harditex cladding. Hardwood timber decking was also featured. The home was built-up to avoid unnecessary excavation which created interest increased the complexity of the build.
Designed to maximise the rural views, the architect ensured all windows and glass doors were positioned carefully. The fireplace in the living area was set forward of glass to minimise obstruction of views. The bedroom window was set at a level to enable views while in bed. Unusual finishes in the kitchen again reflect the rustic feel of the property.
With the cooperation of the architect, the client, and excellent quality trades, we have been able to turn an architect’s concept into a reality.
This home is certainly a masterpiece of collaboration, communication, and an understanding of concepts.
With the unusual design, finishes, and rural location this project remains an APS Homes favourite.
